The white 20″x 4.5″ housing bodies are made of reinforced polypropylene for strength and resistance to chemicals, and the black caps are made of high-flow polypropylene for toughness.
Each black cap has 1″ inlet / outlet brass ports which allowed better sealed connections to the corresponding pipes.
The Double rubber O-ring on the top of the housing body to ensure a watertight seal.

1 STAGE The Big 20″ x 4.5″ Sediment Filter is often the first filter installed in the Whole House Water Filter circuit. They are used in pre-treatment, primary treatment and wastewater treatment applications in order to extend system life and to reduce trace of heavy metal contamination, chlorine and hydrogen sulfide.

KDF process media work to reduce or remove chlorine, iron, hydrogen sulfide, lead, mercury, calcium carbonate, magnesium, chromium, bacteria, algae, and fungi. KDF media exchange electrons with contaminants, changing them into harmless components. During their reactions, electrons are transferred between molecules and new elements are created.
